Elon Musk has informed about this by tweeting on Thursday, May 11. He wrote, ‘Excited to announce that I have hired the new CEO of X/Twitter. She will start her work in the next 6 weeks. My role will be that of Executive Chairman and CTO. I will look after the work of product, software and sysops.
Musk did not say in his tweet who would be the new CEO of Twitter. There is a lot of speculation going on about Twitter CEO. If reports are to be believed then Linda Yaccarino can be given this responsibility.
Who is Linda Yaccarino?
Yaccarino is a well-known face in the media industry. She has been associated with NBC Universal for the past 20 years and has held several leadership roles. Currently, she is handling NBC Universal’s Global Advertising and Partnership Businesses. Prior to this, Linda has also worked on many other big positions.
According to Linda’s LinkedIn profile, she did her studies in Liberal Arts and Telecommunications from Penn State University. According to the reports, Linda had earlier expressed her desire to become Twitter CEO. However, Ella Irwin’s name is also coming in the list of Twitter CEO. Ella currently works for Twitter’s Trust and Safety division.
Musk has control
Only after the Twitter deal was completed last year, Musk fired the then CEO Parag Agarwal from the company. Since then, he himself was handling the responsibility of Twitter CEO. However, earlier this year, he had said that he would leave the post as soon as he finds the right person for Twitter CEO.
